This is my first year winter gardening in Dallas, TX, zone 9a
Vegetables: lettuce, Swiss chard, green onion, bok choy
Freeze data last 6 years ( Lowest/# freeze days): 22F/21, 21F/28, 13F/25, 14F/11, 27F/17, 16F/40
Size: 4 ft by 20 ft

Would I need freeze protection? If needed, is row cover fabric good enough? A little freeze damage is ok but I want to avoid a total loss.

@Rupertlee ~ I am only a tad warmer that you are. I don't believe any of the produce you listed will be a problem. If you do drop in the teens, I would use a frost cloth or row cover.

I am currently growing all of those and more greens, root crops and peas. Only the tender parts of foliage will pay the price.

After you get a winter season or two under your belt, you will gain confidence in what works and what will not. I hope you will let us know how it does.

Thank you for the advice. I will just prepare frost cloth.
