What, in your opinion, is the fattest, lushest, most sumptuous of the tea roses?

Are you talking about the "Old Garden Rose Tea's" or the "modern Hybrid Tea's" ?
It's a rose!!! It has nothing to do with life and death.

OGRs!
Mrs. B.R.Cant is the one that always catches my eye. Wish the bush was smaller.

I have about three dozen teas in my garden. The ones that produce the prettiest blooms in larger quantities than the others are Madame Lombard, Maman Cochet, Monsieur Tillier, Mrs. B.R. Cant, Rosette Delizy, and White Maman Cochet. The only one of these that's smaller than Mrs. B.R. Cant is Madame Lombard, which is about 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide in my garden. All the others are 5-7 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide.

There is something so decadent about an old garden tea rose!

Hiyamakki, I have a baby Duchesse de Brabant in a pot...It may get 6ft, but it is the perfect size in a pot and a blooming machine...It would look amazing near your blush peony bed. (I cut roses with long stems to keep my tall roses smaller.)

Wow Annie, it never occured to me to try it in a pot. How old is yours and how big is the pot?

I got it from High Country Roses late in April or May and it was just a tiny quart...I think I did everything wrong and had too heavy of soil...the pot is about 18x 24 inches and it has snap dragons in it too. The poor bush is only about 2 feet high, but bloomed and bloomed about 2 months after planting and only stopped when we had heavy frost in November. I am guessing it will get bigger, but one grower on youtube said that potting roses can control size. There also is a bonsai guy on youtube that moves things in and out of pots regularly.

I just got back from an out of the way Homedepot and they had most of their pots and planters on clearance, so it might be worth checking your Lowes or Homedepot if you are looking for pots...of course, yours may have a different gardening cycle than mine.
