Did anyone see their free daylily special with any purchase over $75? I have already order twice from them this yr otherwise I would be tempted!

It is very pretty! Sometimes you can just add to your current order and he will give it as a bonus. Welcome to the forum, I love Maryott's and I was just looking for a picture to post because I am having a problem with a new intro.

Welcome! Hurray! Welcome! Hurray! Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. I only found Maryotts this year. They had a particular daylily I wanted so I ordered from them and another company. Like night and day. Huge fans, many bonus daylilies, many fans. I already had a scape coming up a week after planting. Just had my second one bloom today and my naughty little cat decided it was a playtoy so by the time I saw it there was only one petal left. It would have been pretty lol.... and not so lol

Have you tried the Milorganite? It's a slow release, organic fertilizer and the cats do not like the smell but the daylilies love it!
I can just picture your cute cat swatting at the flower. Rolling on the floor laughing

Has anyone had problems with Partita? The first two flowers on mine got eaten by a slug and the third flower got water spots after a heavy rain. That was it, only three flowers and I have been waiting almost a month to see another and get a good pic, no luck so far.

I have not heard of milorganite. That sounds like something worth investing in. I wonder if my hucheras would like it too. I would love to find somethi.g to help keep the cats out of that bed. Thank you so much forthe idea.

I received Partita last year (and this year, too) as a bonus. The first blooms did look punky (the fans I received this year bloomed already and were not much to write home about, also) but on rebloom, the first Partita settled down and bloomed like this:

Now that it is hot, the flowers are okay but not as stunning as the spring-time blooms. It seems to need to settle down for a cycle and close to perfect environmental conditions here to put on its show.

That is good Brandi, I think you will like it a lot. Paradigm is nice, I like the dawn pictures better and if it is overcast I get my best pictures. Green Grin!

Im pretty sure I am going to like them all. I ordered daylilies from two different companies this spring. The other company sent very sad half dead daylilies. I ordered their replacement from Maryotts too. Me new flowerbed consists of these I purchased from Maryotts this yr:
Bluegrass music
Gerrie Frankenburger
Handwriting on the wall
Franks star of bethleham
ledgewoods tony likes it
dutchess of verona
new paradigm
cerulean warbler
linda beck
picture in picture
layers of love
This is my first real flowerbed. Im very excited to see everything bloom. I took the scapes off some of the first order because my mom , who is a master gardener said I should to help the plants settle in. Then she came to visit and couldnt believe the large healthy fans that Maryotts had sent and said I dont need to do that after all. She placed an order from there now too Smiling I have only see two bloom so far. Gerrie Frankenburget which wasnt a double this time and this one.

That's a lovely order! NEW PARADIGM sent up scapes when I got it last year, seemed to settle in quickly and was unfazed by the winter. It put up 4 scapes this year and was one of the first to bloom for me. BGM was slower to settle in but has put up a pair of large healthy scapes with nice blooms.

This is BGM this morning.

Bill and Marilynn send great plants.

Wow that is beautiful! It amazes me how a daylily can come in so many beautiful shapes and colors. Although I miss types I wanted bluegrass music but I got bluegrass memories as my free gift. Bluegrass music was their next free daylily after bluegrass memories. I think BGM will be on my list next year. And yes they do send amazing plants! Smiling

Here is my New Paradigm I got it late last summer, we had a nasty winter - and it has been a blooming fool. I highly recommend it

And then there is Strikingly Dramatic - this one just started blooming and fascinates me
Thumb of 2013-07-18/philljm/248d76

Coffeehouse was a bonus- and I almost lost it during our wet spring. But even with a tiny single fan with it's "recovery" (can't believe I DIDN'T lose it!) it sent up a scape. I expect it to settle down with time.

In fact the only one I haven't been impressed with is Extravagant - it has hung up but it is also less than a year old, and may just need time to settle down. The other one in this photo is Best In Class - a "true" (and amazing) red

Jan, that is a great photo of Strikingly Dramatic. We really like SD because it is different. We have not had a problem with Extravagant hanging up here, so maybe you won't continue to have that problem. Nice photos! We also like Maryott's and have an order coming in September.

Wow, New Paradigm is really nice. I love BGM also. He sent me Bluegrass Memories but it has not bloomed. I am dying to see it. Green Grin!

Jan, I really like Coffeehouse, your's is beautiful and here I was thinking it would be brown. Poor Bill, that picture on his website. Whistling

I got a big order from Maryott's last year and my avatar is the first one to bloom in the fall 'Song Writer'. Love that hot pink color.
This is a bonus I got called Coming Alive.

Maryott sent Coffee House as a bonus last fall. I was very happy to receive it because I wanted it. It bloomed in early June here. The blooms were orangish in the mornings but turned more brownish as the day went on. Naturally, any pictures that I may have taken would have been in the morning. I wish it would rebloom but will probably have to wait until next June to see it bloom again.

I consider Coffeehouse kind of a cinnamon color here. It isn't as brown as others I have (I also have Old Termite & Milk Chocolate) ~Jan
