i have had my Monstera deliciosa variegata for many years and a have been clipping and re-rooting or trading until a cpl years ago @Gina1960 mentioned they are much more happy if allowed to reach 6ft in height. i now have 5 up to the 4 ft height all with sprouts a ft or so but one has reached over 6 ft and i now have something i have never seen in the 15 years i have had this plant :)

They say that variegated Monstera will not breed true from seed. But there may always be an exception!!!

I have heard that a lot of times Monstera self pollinate. Some anthurium can self pollinate too....vittariifolium and scandens, gracile...all almost always self pollinate. Clarinervium is known to. It happens when there is pollen and nectar present on the spadix at the same time. When I find one like that I just rub the pollen onto the nectar. I may have pollinated my Anthurium podophyllum like that...it looks like it took, I am waiting to see

Gina
why isn't there an entry in the Data base for Monstera deliciosa variegata
my plant over the years has produced white leaves and it has produced yellow leaves
and it has even produced solid green leaves
i think my ol plant is just "Monstera deliciosa variegata"
not one of those other fancy names

Well there is a whole big years long argument about that. I'll give it a whirl about explaining it later when I have some time

Monstera seeds usually take over a year to ripen
