I'm looking for your suggestions. I had Brass Band for over 20 years, and I was sad when it died a couple years ago as I really enjoyed its coloring. I've been unable to find it in the U.S. however, I would be happy to find a similar rose. A few that I found include Brothers Grimm (very challenging to find as it's only at Rogue Valley and it's unavailable now) and Easy Does It which I can find. I do not spray so disease resistance is a big plus. What other roses would you suggest?

TBipp, I just wanted to say that Brass Band is one of my favorite roses. I've grown it for >20 years here, and mine is getting elderly, so I worry about replacing it. The link MargieNY posted above for Roses Unlimited is worth checking out. I've ordered tons of roses from RU for >20 years and have always received great roses.

Thank you Margie and Susie,

Yeah! my Brass Band is ordered from Roses Unlimited. I had not ordered from RU before and so appreciated hearing they are a good source. While I was at their page, I noticed they had Brothers Grimm (added to my order) which I was also wanting.

Susan, I appreciate hearing that you also like BB and am surprised that it is not more readily available. I love the color and despite it not being pampered, it had great rebloom. I assumed that there must have been a similar newer rose that people were purchasing that was considered better.

Teresa, I think Brass Band is unique in its color and substance and great bloom. I'm an orange fiend, but Brass Band is a thing unto itself. I've had several friends complain about its color as it fades, but that never bothered me... I actually like the color as it fades. I always took it for granted, as it was regularly carried by my local nursery as a bare root, until it wasn't. It also carries a special place in my heart, as it was one of the roses recommended to me by my original rose mentor back in the late 90s, along with Lemon Spice. Good deal on getting it from RU!

Susan, Thank you for sharing your story and that Brass Band is unique--I was not finding anything similar when I started looking. In addition to the beautiful color, Brass Band was a wedding gift 25 years ago, and I moved it to our current home 12 years ago. So, it has a special place for me as well.
