Is there more more than one rose plant called Sweet Chariot? I have a mini, but I just read in a climbing rose book about it being a climber. Are there two varieties, or is this one and the same? Thank You!

I only know of the mini. Mine never got more than a foot tall so not a climber, lol!

For any interested, it's mentioned in CLIMBING ROSES by Stephen Scanniello and Tanya Bayard in three different places. The first tells about its history, by Ralph Moore, and calls it "a wonderful minature that is often sold as a climber but is actually more beautiful cascading in a hanging basket or container." Mine had a couple of slightly longer, twiggy, canes, but not enough to think of it as a mini climber. Mine usually also gives a good bloom only once, in the spring. Maybe it needs more sunlight.

I had this rose a long time ago. It was one of my first roses that I purchased. I was lucky enough to get it at Ralph Moore's nursery in Visalia. The flowers were very tiny and multi petaled. It did have weeping canes. It was fine in a pot. It didn't have any diseases that I recall. That being said, it was not one of my favorites. I think it died after a few years. I didn't replace it with another. I purchased my Lavender Crystal at the same time on a mini standard. I still have the Lavender Crystal. That rose has to be at least 25 years old now. Wow!
