Making a Pebble Planter

By goldfinch4
November 25, 2015

Looking for a little project to pass the time when cold or rainy weather keeps you out of the garden? How about making a cute pebble planter? This design works especially well for succulents and alpine plants because of the excellent drainage this pot provides.

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

Sometimes it's easier to explain things with photos than it is with words. Smiling

It is easy, just a little time consuming waiting for the glue to dry! Hilarious!

Chris, you should see how long it takes my phone to send the plant photos to my computer...seems longer than glue drying... Grumbling

I used sandstone, not wood. I look through them and find the shape and size I want. I didn't use any wire mesh. I just glued my rocks like brick laying. LOL. Either way will work. They are fun to make!

Oh, oops! That's right, Clint DID use flat stones for his base. *Blush* That's what I get for being too lazy to look up the original. Rolling my eyes.
Hey, how about using hypertufa as a base? You could embed the hardware cloth into the hypertufa.....eeek, somebody stop me....stop me now! Please! Hilarious!
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

Yeah, but that's Tennessee, not Pennsylvania.
Looking forward to hearing from Goldfinch up there in zone 4 next summer.
