Making a Pebble Planter

By goldfinch4

Looking for a little project to pass the time when cold or rainy weather keeps you out of the garden? How about making a cute pebble planter? This design works especially well for succulents and alpine plants because of the excellent drainage this pot provides.

Love it! Our garden club has started small workshops at members' homes'. Is this something that could be completed in about 2 hours?

It took me longer than two hours. You can start on it and work on it later though.

I know they have some very fast drying glues out there.

Have any of you tried this one? http://www.harborfreight.com/s...

I agree But you could definitely get the process started. I thing it would be a fun one to work on together!

Lynn, I haven't tried that one but it sounds perfect and the price is certainly good.

I suggest using a hot glue gun. Put a drop of hot glue on the rocks to hold them in place while the other glue sets. That would allow you to proceed more quickly because hot glue hardens real fast.

That is cute!

Now,
How about those updates on winter survival?

I have a lot of rocks...bigger ones, mostly. Was thinking to do something with grout/mortar...but if glue holds up alright, might be easier I'm all ears!

Thanks!

Funny thing is, it held up real good through the winter, but during the hottest part of the summer here, when it got in the 90's, the glue I used got soft. I will definitely give it a try with different glue someday though.

Oh--wow--with all the chat about winter I didn't even think about summer Hilarious!
We also get hot enough here to melt glue and fry eggs!

Please, do let us know if you find the perfect glue Smiling
