Rolling on the floor laughing

I really miss that store. I guess no one can stay in business selling things for pennies. Whistling

Tarev, what do you use to propagate leaf cuttings in or what have you found works the best.I have propagated my share some lived & some went into the compost pile.I've heard about using just perlite or vermiculite has anyone ever tried this.I put some broken pieces in some vermiculite.I will have to wait and see what happens.

I am having a lot of problems with root rot but it's so humid that plants will fall over & reroot ?? I'm not complaining i haven't lost anything YET.We've had almost 14" of rain in the month of June! Confused Crying that's 9.50" over normal for June & 33" so far this year as of midnight last night.

Well for me, I really liked the akadama and kanuma mix that I add with the regular cactus soil. But at times adding more perlite with the regular cactus soil works as well. And it helps to root them in really shallow containers, so when I water them it will drain out faster. Or if I do have to use a bit taller container, the lower half has styrofoam, so water will just flow out.

It is hard when it is raining that much. You may just have to shelter them indoors for now. Our conditions here are the total flipside..it is so hot and dry here, I am watering all the succulents twice a day now. That humidity factor is really a love/hate relationship with the succulents.

Tarev, we may have had this conversation before but i can't remember (need to take notes) are those 2 what you buy in a specialty shop of some sort?

I buy them from a japanese plant store in san francisco, since we often go there. But you can find them also online, usually from bonsai suppliers.

Just an annual update of my little Crassula cuttings:
Little Crassula ovata got a new top dressing, added some chicken grit, no changes made on the media below:
We are getting chilly overnights, so it has some nice chilled reddish edgings on some leaves. I think it is about an inch taller from last year. Slow growing at its best Smiling

Little Crassula ovata 'Gollum' with sedum morganianum, still doing good in its tiny amount of media, just plumping out existing leaves and a very slow extending growth for the sedum.
