One of my lilies was half eaten by a squirrel or a chipmunk!!! But it appears to still be growing a half obviously that wasn't eaten. Should I leave it ? pull it up? I had previously planted above they've been half eaten and seems to be growing relatively normally.

The last two photos were actually two other ones of my lilies that have been eaten just this morning! It's weird there's five of them that are growing extremely well but the animals have no interest in and then these three they keep going after for some reason. Any ideas for stopping these animals?

I have the same problem with rabbits, Tim. Leave the lilies in place as the leaves that remain will feed the bulb so that it will flower again next year. There are various animal repellant granules you can use to sprinkle around the lilies they are going after. These work OK for me. Any garden center will have them. I find that lilies up to about 9" tall are prey for rabbits. Once they get taller than this the rabbits leave them alone. But just like yours mine get chomped when they are 4" - 6" tall. Sad

Thank you Steve I'll have to check them out. Are the granule repellent safe for dogs? It's possible it's rabbits eating mine as well. My neck of the woods or not far from the city we still have a fair amount of wildlife in my town. Deer , foxes , chipmunks , squirrels and definitely rabbits! So for that I have that are tall much like you are not getting eaten at all they must've just sprouted up before the rabbits found their way to my garden👍

These granules are safe for dogs (we have cats here) and in fact can repel them too. The ingredients can vary but typically can be dried blood or egg-whites with a number of spices (cloves, pepper...). Basically something they don't like smelling. The product isn't particularly smelly itself to humans, but is to rabbits. If you do an internet search on "rabbit scram" you can find lots of details on the products that are available.

Planyskydd is amazing stuff. Thankfully, it is not something you have to continually reapply, after rainfalls etc. I used the powdered form and add water to make the sprayable mixture. I use once every two and a half months. It has saved all sorts of things from damage.

The bud might be advanced enough, but I wouldn't count on it. In my opinion it's worth trying putting it in a vase - there's really nothing to lose.

That's what I figured. I just put it in a vase with some water. Not sure if I should leave it indoors or outside on my screen porch?

Outside in a screen porch is better. The day/night temp fluctuations that follow the light/dark cycle would benefit it. But make sure it can't blow over!

I've never dealt with lillies before . Does this look like they're starting to open up or that they're dying? This was the one that was attacked by a squirrel and it's just been sitting in water for a few weeks now

it looks fine and it should still open. But snip off the bud. That will never open and is only sapping energy from the stem that would otherwise go to the larger bud.
