I'm so jealous for anyone that has room for more roses, in a way. Then again, as I get older, I'm not. At one time I was up to 350 roses in the garden, then 3 years ago I had a heart attack, and had to have a quadruple bypass. That, and the price of water has forced me to downsize my roses by about 100. So I still have approximately 250, most of them in the back yard. The back yard I have left untouched, and only removed maybe 5 or so roses along the back fence. Since the back yard is where I spend most of my time, it will remain the way it is as long as I can take care of it. I kept the hedge of 50 Sunsprite roses around the front yard. And the two Climbing Sunsprite. Also kept Knockout, China Doll, and Lyda Rose. All other roses were removed from the front yard. Then this last summer, I took out all the grass, and replaced it with desert landscaping. The picture on my avatar, was taken in April of last year, before I started the change over.
Fortunately I still have the two big shade trees in the front yard, and even with the desert landscaping the front yard stays nice and cool.
