ANYONE???

I tried to look through previous posts on forum but couldn't find anything to help. I am brand new to Brugs and received my first cuttings today. They are wilted. I asked the seller and she said that was normal. I thought it might be from mailing. have them in water beside a window but doesn't get much sun. Should I get a grow lamp? Also considering a heat pad. I am in zone 6a. Do you think these babies will recover?

Also they look like green cuttings. Is that bad?

Kiltie, how is it going with your cuttings? Still wilted? Did you recut before adding to water?
We here strip the leaves off as they will grow back fast. I would leave them in water for at least
a week and then put into soil. The sooner they go into soil the better off the plant will become.
You want green cuttings if you are a newbie to Brugmansias. Scream if you need more help.

Thanks for your reply. They are coming along nicely growing new leaves, looks like the tips are going to fall off. I have little nodules from roots starting to grow. So I should go ahead and plant them before roots grow more? Thanks

Kiltie, I would cut off the tips and get them in some good soil. They should take off for you
once they are in some dirt. Congrats!!

When I root in water, once transferred to soil, I keep the soil very wet for about the first week. This is because water roots are different from soil roots. They are far more fragile. So you want the roots to adjust from the transition. After a week, decrease the water gradually until it is just moist and you should be golden.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

They have come along great now about 2ft and leafy. It has been dropping low 60's here and have been bringing them indoors. Should I leave them out for a while and let them go dormant or keep them going inside? Also should i trim off the lower leaves? Thanks all

Kiltie:
Here is a photo how we keep them in the greenhouse. I strip all but the top leaves off, leave the buds and bloom if you have any. This way there is less a mess and make sure no bugs or worms. I go out regularly and remove the leaves.
I just don't like the mess and trying to keep them clean. Bring them in when the temps hit 50 at night for a week. I keep the greenhouse ones that are really special at 65 degrees and the Brug House where there is a lot at 60 degrees. Happy Growing.
