When I root in water, once transferred to soil, I keep the soil very wet for about the first week. This is because water roots are different from soil roots. They are far more fragile. So you want the roots to adjust from the transition. After a week, decrease the water gradually until it is just moist and you should be golden.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
