Trying to ID this prolific spreader. It grows to 5 to 6 feet tall. Did an internet search and think it might be poke weed, but have never seen any berries on it.

I have been continuing my search, and I am pretty sure it is frost weed (Verbesina virginica). I typed into Google "plant that oozes sap when frozen" (as that's what this one does!) and viola!
