Well I was looking on etsy, and i found this hybrid listed for sale. Apparently there is a hybrid of Aeonium Haworthii and Aeonium Lily Pad in circulation.

I am a bit skeptical, because there is no documentation of this hybrid ever being made.

This would be a complex Aeonium hybrid, which aren't very common. Since lily pad is already a hybrid, and is being hybridized with something else.

It might be another existing variety , but they weren't good at IDing or decided to just "rename" it

This happens sometimes, where sellers will rename or make up names to plants to make them sell as new varieties or rare varieties

But, still, this might be reall....

I would kind of like to see flowers. Since Lily Pad makes distinctive flowers, I would imagine its offspring would too, esp. when mixed with white. Otherwise I'm really not seeing the Lily Pad in that picture.

In a sense it's interesting because you would have parentage with 3 different flower colors; dwarf, shrubby and giant solitary forms all in the blender. I don't see why it's not possible (and wherever there's a Lily Pad, I would imagine there might be a haworthii) but I would be suspicious it's just a made up (invented, imagined, or presumed) name.

Very highly recommended. Not a small plant. A single rootless rosette can grow to fill a 3 gallon pot in less than a year, outdoors in our climate. The leaf texture is fabulous when you hit it with just the right light.

Honestly I think it would be a bit more Hairy, if it had lily pad DNA. Like at least some hairs.

Honestly to me it looks something more like Aeonium Decorum x Haworthii

Oh, and, Baja_Costero is right. Lily pads are really vigorous. I plant them in pots much larger than they actually need. They grow like crazy. One month ago they were 1 cm across. Now they are maybe 1.5 inches across and going mad with pups.

From a single small cutting I now have 10 + plants. Maybe next spring I can send you one @Sedumzz

The leaf texture is pretty similar to Aeonium turtuosum {Achryson Bethencourtianum}(one of its parents).

There seems to be a lot of confusion on its parentage. I am somewhat sure that it's part tortuosum.

Some sources say it's the tortuosum crossed with Lindleyi

I'm not sure if there is any nobile in it.

The fact that they don't know it's parentage, means that its not a hybrid they made on purpose, and ensured no self pollination, or pollination from pollinators. Which means it's open pollinated, meaning that it could have received pollen from any other aeonium in its grow area.

If it was a hybrid made on purpose, most growers keep good track of what they hybridized.

It most certainly has nobile in it. The size, the leaf shape, the flower color all have contributions from nobile. If it was a hybrid of those 2 dwarf species with yellow flowers, it would be a dwarf plant with yellow flowers, which it is not. That other parentage came from someone who hadn't seen the flower, and didn't think about size. The internet echo chamber strikes again.

A. lindleyi has those hairs. "Blunt leaf hairs which are somewhat sticky" says Schulz. I don't claim to know the story but I'm perfectly happy with lindleyi being the other parent (though it could be something else I suppose). This species is relatively common among succulent collectors because of its supposed healing properties with respect to Euphorbia juice.

Yes, that was my guess.

The only other possibility is that the hybrid vigor made it a much larger plant, which is very unlikely and uncommon, its probably crossed with something like nobile.

If it was crossed with something larger, it most certainly has to be nobile, because most other Aeoniums would have serrations. And obviously lily pad does not have serrations on the edge of its leaves.

Actually nobile still has some tiny bumps like fine teeth along the upper third of the leaf. You can usually feel them with a fingertip better than you can see them with the eye, but here's a picture showing what they look like.

Lily Pad does have the same kind of little bumps along the edges of the leaves, if you pass a finger along to feel them.

Does Bonilla also have fuzzies? If so…. I will start looking for it too!!

Edit: I meant Nobile (Autocorrect shenanigans)

No sticky fuzzies, and not a great container plant (needs a lot of space) and probably impossible indoors during winter.
