Thread OP

Hello,
I am redoing a corner in my front yard and need recommendations for trees/flowers. I am located in SF Bay Area (USDA Zone 9B)

Photos of the house and the corner are attached. I am planning to put red Geranium in the back perimeter of the corner. I need recommendations for a mini decorative tree (~5-6' tall) that can be planted in the middle of the corner. And then smaller colored flowers in the front.

The corner is about 10'x10'.

Any recommendations on the plants/tree to use or design enhancements are welcome.

I imagine you'd want something fairly skinny, rather than spreading, so as not to block those windows completely. I'd consider a narrow columnar evergreen; possibly a yew, laurel, privet, boxwood or cypres that can take a lot of pruning.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.
