Hi. I think this is a weed, but I wanted to make sure what it was before I remove it. Thanks much.

I agree with pokeweed on the 2nd pic, but is the first pic the same plant?

Yes it is the same! I guess the name speaks for itself -- a weed. It looked like one. Thanks much!

I would keep one if it sprouted at my house. There are quite a few "pros" when comparing the pros & cons of this plant. Not a one-size-fits-all.

You can read about some of the positives here if you have an interest, below the pics:

Thank you much, Purpleinopp, for the information. I checked the link. I imagine every plant has some use, and it was interesting to learn about the background of this one. I'll consider that information when deciding what to do. I do have two, so that makes the decision a little easier, if I want to keep one.

I have a very large one growing behind my garage that I keep, and the birds absolutely love the dark purple berries on it. It's the only time I've ever seen a cedar waxwing, on that pokeberry.

Amazing, all. Thank you! Sorry to reply a little late.
I really appreciate all of the information and details.
I didn't think they would grow that tall, or attract
different varieties of birds. It's good to know so
as to make a decision.
