The leaves of the plant in this photo don't appear to have the dense, white hairs of Tradescantia sillmontana and I wonder if this may actually be a variety of Callisia?

This was labeled in a BG but I don't think it is Sillamontosa.

Did you get any other pics of it? Was it inside or outside? Location of the BG? It does look more Callisia-ish. Are you able to crop the most focused part of the pic & add the crop here?

I wonder if it could be this? This has been more hardy in my yard than Callisia fragrans or C. congesta (not a real name but has no other name, yet).

But yes, it did say sillamontosa.

This was at the Norfolk Botanical Garden, VA. This could be hardy or tender.

I guess it might be best to move this into the Bin of Un-id'ed photos, or the genus Calliisia

Knowing more about the location could help narrow it down, whether it was inside or outside, and the location of the garden.

Well, outside in a rocky area. That's all the info I can give. welp, here's a screenshot of what it looked on google maps. Full sun, outside with no protection.

This is weird. Did they renovate it? Not sure. Last time I went there, it was perfectly fine.

In that case, I lean toward T. cerinthoides because the planting doesn't look just-installed, but like a plant that regrew after being dormant for winter. The similar Callisias I've had would not have survived a winter in Z7. Wish the pic made it possible to feel the plant.
