Hey new to the site here and i'm looking for some help!

My girlfriend bought this variegated monstera alba wetstick node off etsy ands it's been in this moss for about 4 weeks now and it isn't doing a single thing. I'm not really sure if she's fully sure if she knows what she's doing when it comes to growing this so i decided to come here to get some more information to hopefully get it growing for her. We have it in the bathroom as it's less cold in there but i'm just not sure if the conditions are ideal for growing.
Could someone please help me with helping her getting this thing to grow!
Any help will be appreciated!

Don't think it was moist enough. I got a reccomendation to move it into a water bottle with the top cut off. I sprayed the moss down and filled it with the moss and put the wetstick in there and put a water bottle on top.

In general speaking how wet should moss be? Should i put it under water and then ring it out? or should it just be misted with a spray bottle?

I see people do this al the time. Lay it on top of the moss. You have to understand a fact about Monsteras. They have a differentiation of labor, so to speak, on where roots grow from, and where leaves grow from. Whichever side is the side where the (stupid stingy) seller cut off your adventitious roots, is the only side you will probably get new roots from. And that appears to be the side you have pointing UP away from your substrate. Roots and leaves are produced opposite of each other. Its this way because Monstera are climbers and they make the roots on one side to stick to and hold onto the support, and the leaves on the other side to stick out and be able to grow freely.
If this stick was mine, I would put the moss in a clear drink cup like a Wawa big gulp with holes punched in the bottom, fill it with very damp but not wet moss, and stick the cutting in oriented the way it will grow naturally. That exposes you entire (stingily given) single node to the substrate and gives it a better chance of being stimulated to make a new root.
But its going to take a LONG TIME. You have already had it 4 weeks. Expect to have it for months before you get this going, if it decides to grow for you

This is what I would use. I propagate all my philo, monstera, epipremnum and Anthurium cuttings like this. Some of my Anthuriums actually GROW their whole lives in moss. (The epiphytic ones). You can see the roots this way, its not a guessing game, and you do not have to commit the cardinal sin of pulling your cutting out every few days to LOOK at it which just sets it back more

Ok so i'm back! With a update.
I killed the original node in the first post by it getting rotted… She bought a new node that has a leaf and a root off etsy. There were 2 white roots when she bought it. She kept it in a mason jar of water for a few weeks. Well those roots got black and are gone but the main root off the node is still intact but it's not doing anything.
We have had it in a mason jar full of perlite with a little bit of water in it. the perlite is moist and not dry and it hasn't done anything.
What are we doing wrong here? Does it need a heat pad under it? We have it now in the window sil so it can get some light. But other than that not really sure. She bought it about a month ago i would say.
