Have you finally decided you need a houseplant or two or three? Here are a few I love because they're both beautiful and easy to grow.

Thread OP

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find what plant I had some years ago, because I really loved it.
Unfortunately I don't have any photos to help me search.

It was a present brought to me in a little square glass pot with blue water beads (gel). It was just a bulb (no roots) inside those water beads and long narrow pointed green leaves grew out of it. The leaves kind of looked like those of a much thinner-leafed Yucca, a Tillandsia or even better Lemongrass. It did not grow much in height, just about five centimeters (if I remember correctly) as it's leaves grew longer but were hanging towards the floor.
It needed too little care. I only watered it when the pot seemed to be completely drained, adding water till the top of the water beads (as I was instructed). And I believe once a month I trimmed off the dead/drained/brown part of some leaves and cleared all others with a clean soaked in water towel.
That was it.
Unfortunately when a large portion of the water beads had been consumed I transplanted it into a pot with soil (I hadn't done any research and didn't know any better at that point) and it didn't last long.

Does anyone have any idea which plant this might have been?
Thank you all.
