I am surprised this shrub isn't mentioned more often. I just love them! There are a few @ a nearby park that are 15 feet tall, gorgeous & covered with blooms. Please show'n'tell about yours!

I saw some @ L's and brought one home but it hasn't grown an INCH in the past year. I'm not sure it didn't shrink. If you're going after a big one, make sure it's not 'Little John.' The plant labels have misled me so often about plant size over the years, I quit looking at that stuff about a decade ago. But congrats to whoever made this cultivar because it really does seem impossible that it will ever even reach the possible size of 5 feet indicated here:
Dwarf Bottlebrush (Callistemon citrinus 'Little John')

Those look like the ones often planted in road medians and around shopping centers here. They seem to stop growing at about 18 - 24 inches.
I was given a Bottlebrush, variety unknown, several years ago; it topped out at about 6' and then was killed by the terrible winter of 2020. However, I won't miss it much as it bloomed sparingly and grey! A slightly pinkish grey but not attractive.

Thank you very much for the replies! Now I am more puzzled about the park trees because it sounds like maybe smaller cultivars are what one is likely to find for sale.

Is there a taller, similar plant and I'm confused about the ID? They grew fast. Planted about 4-5 feet tall, and got so much taller in just about 3 yrs. I need to take some pics.

I think there are several varieties of Bottle Brush. A rather distant neighbor had a line of three in front of her house that were 15' trees. Alas the extra cold winter got them too. Perhaps short ones are more cold tolerant?

Thank you. It looks like I need to dig this up and put it in a more appropriate spot. It looks ridiculous out in the middle of the mowed area. And back to square 1, looking for a small-tree size bottlebrush.

The database says that Bottle Brush "Harkness" grows to 6' - 8'. Would that do?

Yes, thank you. Much better than barely above ankle high. : ) I don't think the little park where the ones I saw are, would have plants that one can't find @ L's. There's not anywhere else to buy plants within an hour drive, unless you add WM and the tiny garden areas at the nearby WM's rarely have anything but very small plants, not trees/shrubs. I'm hoping I just need to check labels on this one.

In view of what happened to our Bottle Brushes winter before last, I don't know that the bigger ones could survive in your climate.
