34 degrees and Channel 11 is about to spew forth warnings about the snow that will hit over night.

Three inches last night, heavy snow; I started shoveling and finished shoveling but pulled out the snow blower for the driveway/parking lot.
High humidity with thirty some degrees is nasty, prefer 10 degrees dry air. I tip my hat to you.

I put in some of the potatoes up North:
Agata
Grand Duke
Sinatra
Satina
I bought the Satina from Farmer Greenhouse, on a whim.
I saved a few Sinatra and Agata for my South garden for space saving up North.
I have not yet determined how many carry overs I will put in up North.

I put in one spicey chile, and three varieties of Sweet.
Buy they in six or four packs is cheaper but you get more than one wants.
Planted my Rakkyo, Candy, Cipollini Gold Coin Onions and Conservator Shallots.

I have a lot more to do but as I am actually starting a little earlier than on average, and I tip my hat to you. the fact that I uncovered three large toads still waiting for soil to warm so they could hit the road again, I do not feel bad about that.

Every thing I fully pre-intended to plant down South is now in the garden.
I planted the potatoes, 98.6 percent carry overs down there, and then uncovered the roses and put the leaves on the potatoes.

I planted the potatoes in the lessor side of the garden because I did not want to have to cart the leaves any farther than absolutely necessary.
The South garden was HEAVILY hit with 30-0-10 fertilizer because I had it and was curious to see if that makes any difference.
Garden was roto-tilled twice, partly for weed control the second time, so it is mixed into the soil.

I planted some ButterCup Squash and a pot of cucumbers but as of now the rest is Corn and Potatoes.
Corn planted was:
World's Largest Giant Corn Seeds
Seneca Red Stalker
Tuxepeno
Hickory Cane
Boone County White Dent
Goliath Silo Field Corn
Eureka Ensilage Dent Corn.
Zanadoo Sweet Corn
Martian Jewels Sweet Corn
Tuxana Sweet Corn
Double Red Sweet Corn

Plots are unevenly sized but on average, guesing, Seven by five.

My neighbors gave me a packette of Sun Flowers, so I did transplant two volunteer Sun Flowers and planted six Mammoth Sun Flowers.
I have two small open spots I may put some thing else in but as of now I am far more concerned about enough rain and the stinkin Turkeys.

Today I start to finish the North Garden. I tip my hat to you.

Garden up North is going gangbusters, only real failure is that the Agrata Potato, only one plant came up in two gardens.
If I get orerny, I may fire off an e-mail.

Just came back from the South garden.
Corn is doing real well, tomatoes , onions and Chiles are doing far better than expected but I have watered heavily.
Potatoes plants did fine but I spent several hours squishing CP beetles and larvae for the past two days.
Now sure what the yield will be.

Some so called Elephant Garlic came up that I put in last year, not sure what to expect but two are flowering, and the rest are still green.
They were fertilized and watered heavily two weeks ago.

Inspite of putting down leaf, hay and straw mulch, the Purslane is thick and I spent another three hours yesterday pulling it.
Garden was dry, very, before I started so after snapping so many off I stopped and watered for two hours.
Did so if I get back to weed they come up with the root, while tomatoes and chiles do much better with enough moisture in the ground.
Sweet corn, or at least some is starting to tassle, while the dent corns are already 8 feet high and probably will not tassle for another few weeks.

My corn was left leaning up North after Heavy Wind, but all but one stalks is not pretty much vertical. I tip my hat to you.

Osmak 8 row Corn
Indian Flint Corn
Mandan Bride Corn
Piper's High Protein Corn
Atomic Orange Corn
Country Gentlemen Sweet Corn
Baxter's Yellow Sweet Corn

This is the corn planted up North; the Indian flint corn was eradicated by cut worms and now all but the other are one mass and I can tell the boundaries mostly by the height and ripeness of the stalks.

Picked some Country Gentleman and Baxters yellow for tomorrow.
They were only separated by inches and the CG is yellow rather than white so I am sure there was a lot of bleed over.

The dent corns did not bleed as they are weeks behind.

Thought I got all the CP beetles but today I found some more squish. I tip my hat to you.
