Can anyone help me identify my plumeria? It was sold as a Lani's beauty but clearly is not. It appears the leafs have the extra lateral vein so I thought it was a Celadine but to me it looks more like a Nebel's gold. It starts solid yellow and has a pink stripe on the back. The amount of white in the pic is about as much as it gets. To me it smells like lemon.

That is a beautiful color! I don't have this color so I can't ID but here are some photos in the database:

Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Nebel's Gold')

I pulled up Aztec Gold too:

And I agree definitely doesn't look like Lani's Beauty:

Lemon drop?

The pics in the database don't have the pink color on buds.

Thank you for the help.

I think the pic of the Nebel's gold in the database is a Nebel's rainbow.

Here is a Nebel's gold on Etsy that I think looks similar.

A little more info. I bought it from a kiosk at Disney springs. They had four cultivars. Celadine, Lani's beauty, King Kalakaua and Wailea, so I'm assuming it should be a Celadine but maybe something else got mixed in.

Additionally, this has been grown indoors in Colorado using a south window and grow lights. Not sure how much that could influence its appearance.

You are right about that photo is not Nebel's rainbow good catch, it even has the same photo as the one in Nebel's Rainbow.

Yes, the color would be lighter if grown indoor but glad you are able to make it bloom.

So hard to identify from pics. Especially if it is currently blooming. Wouldn't have the heat to actually give it the proper colors of late spring, early summer. I can for certain tell you that it is not a lemon drop. There are no pink bands on that.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

I thought I remember Ken @drdawg mentioning the extra outside line specific on the Celadine leaf. I wish he would see it and confirm or tell me I am mistaken.... Smiling

There is an extra line on celadine, but it isn't the only one like that.

Unfortunately, you'll never confirm the true identity of that plumeria, @Jcdoc107. Flowers change (often dramatically) depending on the time of year, the way it's grown, and zone of growing. Also, there are simply too many hybrids now that look similar. I would say that this is NOT Celadine. There is not simply an additional lateral vein, there should be two of them. Your leaf only has a single additional vein. Here's a photo from yesteryear (15+ years ago) of my Celadine veining. Notice the number of lateral veins, two major and two minor veins.

I got new blooms from this one. There are about 65 more buds, so hopefully they keep coming. They seemed to have trouble opening on the tree but opened in the water. I'm thinking they are not getting enough heat from the sun.

@Jcdoc107, I have absolutely no idea about the lack of bud opening. You might like to go to your Profile page and enter your location. That way, when you post, we'll know your location. Growing conditions control so much of what we see with our plants, and location is a big part of that.

Merry Christmas
