I find it very interesting to see the roots of plants and a freshly repotted plant is almost always beautiful
I potted two Anthurium Clarinervium together , because they looked a bit puny individually
As much as I like them, I find their roots kind of disgusting , they remind me of fat maggots
Now it has found its place next to my desk

Very pretty! I so rarely get around to taking pics while repotting because my hands are dirty. Totally agree, it's fascinating that some plants just make very delicate roots like hair and other plants, Dieffenbachia comes to mind, make big, fat roots similar to those in your pic.

those are kind of maggoty- best to hide them again
I have some root pics somewhere. I inherited MIL's ponytail palm in glued rocks. I had to break the pot to get it out and took pics . It's gone on to have a nice life here!
A few years ago I got smitten by my Phalaenopsis roots, when they're nice and healthy and filling the pot.

One of my succulents had a crazy long root. I play around with potting a few succulents either individually or in combination, depending on how they're growing, season, my mood..

Is that an Aloe? Those do make crazy roots.

Aloe squarrosa, I think.
Heres a cutting that lost its 2 leaves and took 11 months to make 2 new ones. I pulled off any loose sphagnum and found a couple roots. Kind of silly to bother with but
Now staked and clipped to pot to try and stabilize it.
What a pity that I have to go back to work on Monday. It's sooo nice to have a lot of time for plant care
The old lady was in desperate need of fresh soil and the young girl really wanted the same pot as her friends , because she was in the ugliest grow pot there is
Terracotta colored plastic pot ...

My new babies. Shared at a plant event last night where I work, and freshly potted.
Sunflower and purple heart did not make it gome to me but heres the list of plants one attendee brought to give away. And he brought dupes of most of those just for me
This kangaroo fern is not doing very well . The root ball is as hard as concrete
So I tried to loosen it up a bit, which was hardly possible ...
Repotted in a loose, fresh soil mix with vermiculite
Maybe he'll recover and show new grows ???
In any case, he can now hang out in a shady spot again

kangaroo fern! it can't possibly give up too easily, can it?
Yes, E tirucalli, now in a terra cotta pot. I'm taking it to work, there's a counter which gets a period of skylight sun mid day and is too drying for some plants.

Good luck to your fern, Mrs H.!
Do you have a pic of that one, Sally, the Euphorbia?

they really fill a pot with roots, don't they?
I don't remember why I had one but do not still have it.
I posted the Euphorbia on some thread. I wasn't sure where it best fit.

As far as asparagus ferns go, that's a nice one. I've spent too much time and effort battling it as a weed here to appreciate it much except in other people's pics.
