Hey there Mick. Welcome!
Great photo you posted in a few post up. Lovey dubby
Do you know the name of it? Is it two varieties in the same container. Sure is beautiful.

Twit, I am so glad to hear that our area wasn't the only one showing up with the fuzzy 'Silver King'. Uhhh, maybe that didn't come out right? Whistling
Sorry to hear we still have an incorrect 'Silver King' still being sold to the public.
But, who is to know which is correct? I can't find source information on Silver King, so how do we know which one is correct? Is the real Silver King the one that sells the most? Whistling

I agree about getting a S. 'Atroviolaceum Pubescent'. Wonder what would happen if I crossed it with my 'Red Lion'. Blinking

chris,
my soil all comes from regurgitated yard & trees waste from recycle center in a small town over in W.Va the closest industry to the area is a Horse Racing site, about 25 miles away, that has been turned into a all out Gambling Casino. I just figure since that's what they grow in naturally. "More should be better" Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing . I do add a handful of pea gravel in the mix around where the roots will grow. that mix dries out really quick in pots. The 1's i got from you couple weeks ago have taken a liking to it too. Sticking tongue out Sticking tongue out Sticking tongue out will put some pics up next week

Your soil is fine! If you feel like mixing some chick grit in you can, I usually use 1/5 to 1/4 (If its a quart, than I use less than a pint of chick grit - but I don't measure, I just go by the look/feel) then as a top dressing I use more than an inch (about 2 inches) so that the weeds stay under control! You'll definitely notice a difference! They'll begin to "pop" Lovey dubby your geese!

WOW, maybe that is why mine are going so good this year! I added some to my "homemade" soil last year when I made my semp. bed. Now I know I'm not nuts if other plant people add it. nodding I have give it to my chickens.
