Also like the mini garden and will echo that 'Curly Fries' will outgrow it, but I really love mine. Gorgeous little hosta that changes colour during the season.

Ann, I bet you have several minis. What would you consider some good choices? Well anyone can answer that is growing some that they would recommend.
Thanks!

I put up an album on Facebook at the end of June of all my mini and small hostas and I described each picture and noted whether or not they were growing well. You don't have to be a Facebook member to access them with this link - https://www.facebook.com/media...

Right now, there are 4 mini-small hostas that are among my favourites -

'Country Mouse' - different family from the 'Blue Mouse Ears' set

'Curly Fries', which as noted above, is not going to stay very small for long. LOVE this one.

I think 'Cameo' and 'Hope' are really nice little plants and they grow quite well. The other two 'Baby Bunting' sports, 'Cherish' and 'Pandora's Box' grew well for me when they were new but have been getting progressively smaller for years.

Is there a list somewhere on the internet for top the ten miniatures?

Here is my smallest Hosta. It is Hosta 'Ko Mame' with foliage only 1/2" wide and the whole plant the size of my closed fist. I manage to keep it safe by growing it with a bonsai in a small container this way no voles can get to it. They seem to like to tunnel around to hide from my vole "hunters", cats.

Treehugger - how long have you had 'Ko Mame'? I have 'Kifukurin Ko Mame' and the leaf shape is similar and so is the individual plant size, but over the 20 or so years I've had it, it has grown a LOT and I have borders of it in several places.

I've only had it five years. Yes the picture is a division from the original but the foliage stays small. The flowers are also small. I moved it to a container to make sure it is safe from little winter visitors. Mine has a thin white line around the edge of the foliage. I just bought another one last year and the white edge is very weak around the edge. It is a tiny one. I love your hat ViolaAnn.

Thanks about the hat. That's a good Canadian Tilley hemp hat. But they had it in that colour for only a few years. I'm looking at the pic and thinking the colour has faded as well.
