Mine leaks a little where I attached my sprayer but not enough to not use it Hilarious!
I think the one with metal fittings might eliminate the leaks but more expensive than mine at two for 19.95 for 50 footer.

I bought a Pocket Hose to fill in an area in front of my house where I don't have much room for a hose. So far, it has fit the bill perfectly. I liked it so well, I bought a second one for a spigot in the back of my yard. It's light enough that I won't smush plants dragging a heavy hose around. Even if they only last a season or two, the convenience is worth it to me.

Just wondering how everyone's hoses are doing in 2014 growing season?
I got the Pocket Hose last month. I love how easy it is to use, and hope that it will last at least through next year.

I blew up my pocket hose this spring (left it lying flat on ground and it cracked and then blew up under pressure.) I really had "Spring showers" Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I bought another but it is a bit whimpy (does not fill up as it leaks at the faucet) I really want one with the
brass fittings as I think they will leak less. but I still like better than conventional hose as it is so much easier to drag and store.

I bought a short conventional hose that "would not kink" and it kinked right away. Another 8 bucks down the drain (if I had kept receipt, I guess I could have returned it.)

We are now getting rain every afternoon (what they call our monsoons) so not having to water much.

So far I am enjoying the ease of using this hose. I do drain it and put away when I finish watering. I use the quick connects which makes set-up fast.

My first one two years ago lasted really well, I think it was better made than the more recent ones.

But it too started to leak last year so I replaced and then the 2nd one blew up. Now on third one.
But the convenience makes it worth the effort to find a good one.

What lengths are you guys using? I've been sorely tempted by these things. And where are you getting yours?

I got mine at Home Depot, the 50 foot one.
I am really tempted to try the one on this link. Marilyn posted it last year. https://www.xhose.com/pro/?mkw...

I used a short length of conventional garden hose - my toughest - to link two "irrigation zones" on either side of my driveway, so I could water both on one timer. I thought that hose would stand up to being run over with my car.

Nope.

It did OK for a few months in the fall. But I never took it up and put it away. We do get freezes, maybe I didn't drain it well enough. Anyway, it fell apart into multiple layers.

In order to keep them working, they do need to be drained after each use. They are not suppose to be left out in full sun after use, and should be put away for winter.
I don't think they would hold up to driving over them, drained or not drained.

It sure works well for watering all the containers on my covered porch.

CDsSister, I wonder if you just need a gasket in your hose connection. Sometimes they fall out easily and you'd never know it until you looked, or if as in your case, it leaks where it connects to your faucet.

Shoe (also trying out the flex/expandable hose; so far so good!)

Channel locks. Two of 'em. One for each side. I have no strength in my hands (arthritis), but those little rascals give me enough leverage to do the job. Smiling

Ditto to all the last posters...I often have to use pliers to tighten hose couplings these days. It sure makes it less frustrating, and easier!

Last time I hooked it up I did use pliers and am hoping I can get it off when the time comes.
