I came across this link on FB and though I'd share it on here. It might prove to be helpful.

Thanks for that list, Tom.

PINKITY, per the hybridizer's daughter (and my own observation) should be on that list. (It wasn't registered as such, because the hybridizer didn't think it was pronounced enough.)

I have what is supposed to be LOVELY LOIS (bought for my sister), but I don't recall seeing PBF on it, so I have to wonder if I have the correct plant.

The PBF on DARKSIDE is a comes-and-goes kind of thing with the time of the year, which is a bit disconcerting.

I'm sure the list isn't all inclusive, especially with new releases. I have some irises that have it in the spring, but not in the fall, other are the opposite. Some have very little, and others have it all the way to the buds. Thanks for the acorn, Marilyn. Smiling

AIS is also asking the society members to list iris with PBF but everyone seems unclear on if the list is for historics or all iris.

In my garden, 'Lady in Purple' has the most pronounced PBF.

Yes, LADY IN PURPLE has really strong PBF. (I was only looking for irises on that list that I had questions about.)

Arlyn ~ That works by typing it in. It was the link that did not work.

I noticed that they didn't have 'Lady in Purple', which has the darkest PBF of all that I have. (Thank you, Rob!) Anyone ever contact Rob?

Going through the pot ghetto in The Pit today, I found CREME ORANGE. I recall this blooming once, then I think I may have lost it and then reacquired it (but I haven't seen it bloom again since). It has PBF, although it is not registered as such. https://wiki.irises.org/TbAthr...

I just potted SHARE THE LOVE yesterday (the sole survivor from the gophers), and there is sort of, kind of, a hint of PBF. Really more like a purple mascara line than anything else, as opposed to (say) the eye-shadow tint (broad(er) swatch) of purple that you see in most PBF irises. If that makes sense.

Eye liner, yes, that's right. (Maybe you can tell that I wear neither eye liner nor mascara, so I had to grope for the right word. Rolling my eyes. )

I just thought it was interesting to see the strong but narrow line... And since I have only the one rhizome now, I couldn't tell if that was some fluke or if all rhizomes would have it.

If anyone else has SHARE THE LOVE, please take a look at the basal foliage. I'd like some reassurance that it is not my imagination. Whistling (I actually just went out and looked again, and yes, it's still there.... a single line at the very bottom of the foliage, down near the rhizome.)
