Apple tree was doing good.. then I came out one day and noticed that it was wilted and brown, at least the leaves for, but not all of the leaf. Some of the leaf in the center is green, but the outside is curled and brown. It doesn't look like the actual tree trunk part is dead, and there's even green stuff sprouting in between the dead leaves, now, the day before it had rained all day and all night, and then it got really really hot the next day, and I looked closer, I realized that it looks like my gardener must have gotten too close with the weedeater so my question is, did it get too hot after it rained and sunburn on these leaves and it will be OK, or did weed eating the bottom of it caused this to happen, and what can I do to care for the area that was eaten up by a weed eater ? I really would like to make sure that it's saved.

Your gardener has killed your tree. The tree is girdled - that means the bark is missing all the way around and there is no longer a way for nutrients and water to get to the top of the tree. It may grow from the roots but the tree that grows will be whatever rootstock the tree was. Your gardener owes you a new tree.

Terrible to think that anyone calling themself a "gardener" would do that. Tragic.
