Hi Folks,
I prefer my peace lily short and bushy rather than tall and skinny. What shall i do? just cut the top off and new leaves will grow from shortened stems? thank you.

No that won't help. New leaves will not grow back if you cut a stem on a Spathiphyllum. You will just get a denuded plant. Plants have their own growth patterns that are genetic. Aroids are not a group of plant you can 'engineer' by pruning like you can with some hard stemmed plants. You just have to ride with what you have, or do research to find a species of Spathiphyllum that is closer to the look. you want. Like this one, S. Ivan Portilla 'Black'

I don't grow Peace Lilies so just a thought... will more light make new leaves grow shorter?

Is this the plant you bought huge and beautiful and then divided into 9 pieces?

Spathiphyllum don't like a lot of light. They do best in shade, dappled or broken shade

Thank you very much for the reply. I think i will look for a strain of peace lily that is shorter and bushier. Someboy mentioned 'Sweet Chico' Peace lilly, 'Pearl Cupido', Spathiphyllum 'Chopin. And i did some search online, they do look shorter and bushier.
