No that won't help. New leaves will not grow back if you cut a stem on a Spathiphyllum. You will just get a denuded plant. Plants have their own growth patterns that are genetic. Aroids are not a group of plant you can 'engineer' by pruning like you can with some hard stemmed plants. You just have to ride with what you have, or do research to find a species of Spathiphyllum that is closer to the look. you want. Like this one, S. Ivan Portilla 'Black'
