I bought a spider plant from a nursery about a month ago. It was in a 4 inch pot. I repotted it in a 6 inch pot. But when I took a closer look at it, it seems like the nursery guy had planted 3 spider plants together for it to look bushy. Is it really 3 plants here? If so, should I separate the three with roots and plant them separately for better growth? The rootball was very entangled. Does it carry the risk of excessive damage if I do so? See two pictures from different angles below.

in my opinion-
the pot size now is good and I say leave it alone.
Splitting it up is not necessary for its health, and would leave you with a couple of thin spindly plants needing smaller pots now.
I think spider plants are often 'multiples' with no harm done for it.
Spider plants grow naturally in a bunch and with age, grow little plantlets from the tips of long stems. I've always thought they looked best if allowed to grow naturally.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.
