One of my friends planted six of these "Knock Out" roses at her home about eight years ago. They are quite large now and just drip in blooms. Just look at how gorgeous these are!!

She said she does not do much to them other than water them. Said she planted them just by throwing them into the ground.

They are not cheap, but I am considering buying some and trying my hand. I am a little intimidated by roses. Historically, they have been known to have tons of problems and be very difficult to grow, but these "Knock Out" roses might be the break I am looking for.

Does anyone have experience of them? Any recommendations on planting, etc.? Is this a good time of year to plant them?

Knock Out roses are a good beginner's rose. You can probably plant potted plants whenever you like as long as you keep them adequately watered.

Great! This is good news on both fronts since firstly I am not a rose expert, and secondly after investing a lot of money in reviving a garden at my old residence (a rental property where I lived for almost a decade and expected to be the last place I ever lived) and then was forced to move because the house was turned into an AirBnB I am not keen to invest a lot of money into my new rental house unless I can see that this will be a long, long term rental for me.

I cannot wait to pick up some new BIG pots and stop by the nursery to choose some roses! Hurray!
