Thanks J. Yes, we do but still, 9" is pretty hard to drain. Most of it is sand though so that will help a great deal.

Wish running out of patience with the moved hardy bulbs made a diff, it doesn't! This discussion helps a lot, always excited to see there's new entries, somebody's bulbs are blooming! I guess a few (less than 50!) Lycoris radiata will be it until the daffs start in a few mos.

This cute little potted tropical bulb (Z10) is blooming though, Ledebouria socialis. (The bloom goes with the dark, spotted foliage.)

TY, Carol! The preview cuts off the bloom, but it's not as exciting as a lot of other flowers.

'Tis the season to find more bulbs. Found about 60 Lycoris radiata in another abandoned yard! The more I dug down into the hole, the more there were.

Edited to add a pic:

Tiffany, that's a good showing of Lycoris considering how they tend to sulk after being moved. They'll be amazing next year!

TY for the encouragement, Neal, much appreciated. It's SO hard to b patient!

Edited to add:
Still finding tons of Lycoris radiata that are OK to dig up. I filled 2 hanging basket pots this morning, and then about half of a 5-gallon bucket.

For each flower, there's an average of 20-30 bulbs in its' clump. It looked like I was going to dig up about a dozen bulbs, until I started digging...

Bessera elegans is such a charming plant! My pot of them has continued to spend up new stems since the end of July.

jmorth, when will you bring them inside? Wondering if I should let them get nipped by frost before letting them dry out.

Neal, I put my pot of em in the garage yesterday where they'll die back before I move the pot to the basement to over-winter (move to there in a couple of weeks or less). Bloom degree has been pretty poor the last two years after an initial bloom fury the first two years. Part of the problem may be not enough sun as I'd moved pot from first location last two years; this year in particular decline may have been further exacerbated by such a wet summer. May need to re-new stock for next season to duplicate positive results enjoyed initially.

I was considering going ahead and bringing these inside too, as we've been getting lots of rain, and sounds like more is on the way. May try sitting the pot under the deck or picnic table where it can dry out few days first.

I've got a pot of Tuberose with the first bloom stalk emerging, and hope I can at least see it open before I have to bring those in.

Wishing you and your tuberose well.
I had new tuberose this summer that bloomed quite early (for a tuberose here). It's now in the garage as well.

*Finally* seeing evidence of the massive quantity of bulbs I moved to Mom's yard this spring. The Lycoris radiata are pretty much finished blooming, (the ones that did,) and there's foliage popping up like crazy - exponentially more bulbs making foliage than the ones that just bloomed. So excited (for next years' show!) Thanks for keeping me sane with this discussion!
