I was surprised when I logged in this afternoon to see an August Bloom thread hadn't been started yet...I know I'm up here in the chilly north but surely I'm not the only one with blooms....

I marvel at just how well they do in my zone. The substance in her flowers are truly amazing. It's like they are made out of a plastic mold. The scapes are strong like steel. Amazing!

I have a one year old seedling that bloomed today. This doesn't happen in Vermont. None of the other seedlings will bloom this year, and I didn't expect them to. I grew this from seed in the Winter of 2011, and planted it in July 2012. The seedling only has only ONE bloom on it, and here it is.
