true, sometimes I give something to my mom, and then when it blooms for her I'm like 'bummer! I gave *that* away?!'

I've had Matt, (Harris, Tet, Dor, Mid, 5.5", 20"), for a couple years, and not impressed with it at all. It's never reached 20" and the flower gets splotchy and the scapes barely reach the height of the leaves. If a DL is going to go bye, bye, Matt would be the one. It's too bad because it's a good multiplier and a bud builder. Maybe I'll just plant them in a big pot and keep it on the patio. I hate to toss such a happy, but goofy looking, plant.

Here's a picture of stubby, Matt.

I have a boat load of daylilies that are going to go. Not because I don't like them, but because I'm out of room and have a whole basement full of new seedlings that are going to have to have a place.
Think I'll sell them for $1 a fan

Several years ago I received a mis-labelled daylily. It turned out to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen. But (of course) it was incredibly vigorous. I listed it on ebay (prior to the existance of the Lily Auction) as 'the world's ugliest daylily'. I expected it to go for $1 for the whole clump, but it went up to $26!
So I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I am cutting back on some of my order dls just for rooms sake. Well I have the room but not the energy. I have new seedlings to keep up now.

One of mine, Before the Mask, is not very attractive and I don't care much for it. I still have it, though, and may just move it to another location where it's not so prominent. I'm not a fan of the spiders and UFOs so much, but gravitate toward the eyed DLs.

I still have a relatively small collection, although it grows yearly, just like the rest of you!

I have a small collection and I like them all, even the ditch lilies, which I have to 'ditch' this year. Maybe I will keep some in a big pot because the hummers like them and they look pretty in salads! Smiling

mcash70,
If you grow the ditch lilies in pots, be sure to put that pot on concrete or a wooden deck, anywhere but on top of soil. I had a pot of them just sitting on the ground, the roots escaped out of the drainage holes. It was really tough to dig them out, I'm still finding ditch lilies coming out of that area. Crying

Some of the Ditch lilies or Kwansa that I removed in the fall of 2009. The labels did not survive the winter. It will be easy enough to tell once they bloom.

The remaining Ditch lilies that I left by the mailbox are still going strong. Definitely more advanced than the pots.

ditchlilies, Kwanso is another strong one. I left a few fans outside over the winter, I did not want to plant them and id not feel like walking down to the compost pile to pitch them. they are in a black greenhouse tray , foliage is about 3-4 in. high. they survived the winter never being planted. Oh dear. I am in zone 6 with temps that get very cold, icey and snowy winters.
