Oh Greg, you will have baby B cabulica. Hurray!
How wonderful. Mine bit the dust during the 6 degree weather we had in December. It actually made it through that, it was when it later warmed up and the plant started looking like it was growing. Then another big cold front came in with lots of snow. When the snow melted little cabbi was a goner. I was so bummed. I was hoping for blooms this year.
But how wonderful, I can see the blooms through your photos. Hurray!

Mine was going through winter beautifully, until it started warming up, then dropped to about 12°F.
Greg, can you get us an updated photo, so we can watch it's blooming progress? Hurray!

Hi all Calin great photos! I was going to take photos today anyway, because the bloom stalk is looking so odd! Have to find the right spot though so you can see the skinny bloom stalk! I tip my hat to you.

Here are photos...don't know that you can see how long the bloom stalk is...there are 3 at the base, and the one that's active has split into several ends!! Once there are blooms on here it should be very pretty! Hurray!
This is a 6inch clay pot, to give you an idea of size! (the rosette is maybe 4inches and the stalk rises above the plant by 10inches or so)
Thumb of 2014-05-19/gg5/d21066
in this photo you can see the other bloom stalks just beginning to become active!
They've been sitting there for a about a month, inactive

I tip my hat to you. @cdssister - I am sooo loving this plant!! The leaves are totally leather feeling! Hurray!

Thanks Connie, I know I feel really happy with this plant! I did have 2 originally but lost one. This one made it through winter - I brought it inside for the coldest part and then kept it somewhat covered from the rain.
Now it is just in the open and seems quite happy!!! I can't wait to see what color the blooms are!
Thumbs up
