It will have to wait for morning. I'll add a few of Stunning. When it first opens it's a delightful very pale yellow and then loses that coloring and goes to what I posted. It's lovely in all stages.

Lovely, Anne! It makes a person stare to see the magic at work.

I agree

Those are perfect Julia! I love that variegated plant with the burgundy eyebrows.

Very nice, Julia. I really like the persicaria (Painter's Palette?) with the various heuchera. Love the pansies.

Pennisetum setaceum Rubrum is another good dark plant to show off the dark colors of another flower. Here's Asiatic lily Forever Susan with the pennisetum.

Now I'll enter the lily, Stunning, to the database. Susan, Lisa Hunt is Buggy Crazy (her business name). She is the hybridizer of Stunning.

Sorry about that, I guess I was more tired than I thought! Stunning is gorgeous and I saw your Image Set, that was just stunning! I had to add it to my want list and I would love Forever Susan as well. Very unusual lily.

It's an unbelievably good buy at 99 cents (plus shipping). I paid the original $35.00 for it and that was worth it.

There are some awesome combinations! I'm definitely taking notes.

I didn't know a proper name for this but I have been doing it informally since I started gardening. I always have sections in my gardens where I color block. And I must do it subconsciously too because I end up with echos by chance often too. And then I have sections where I just want a big pop of many bright colors. I tend to do this more with annuals.

I'll have to go through my pics this weekend and find some good ones

Here's another cool one, Zuzu, Stardust caladium with sedum. Unplanned matches are great fun.

Gorgeous, Pirl, and you're right: It will also provide relief when the weather's too hot.

I'm intrigued by caladiums. I wonder if they appeal to gophers.

I don't know about gophers but they do appeal to the dreaded deer. More Southold, NY people need to demand roam-free venison!

OK, finally found one, the white beards of Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'City Lights') are complimenting the variegated white of the Spurge (Euphorbia characias 'Tasmanian Tiger').
