I am just amazed, they both are still pumping out blooms, and never even seem to have slowed down with 3 days of cold. The pink one has two flowers open and dozens of buds coming, and Chas Grimaldi is just slowly opening blooms over the last week.

No kidding, this is a Hurray! one. I really think the extra dose of epsom salts I've been giving them over the winter is helping a lot, along with the Pro-Tekt silicon stuff. I just add a couple of teaspoons of epsom salts and a capful of the silicon stuff to the fert solution (2gal.) about once a month, and the leaves are so much bigger, darker green and even seem to have a thicker texture.

Time and summer weather will tell, so . . . we shall see. I just had to move that big plant out of the pool cage yesterday. It's just gotten too big for the small space inside. So now I'm expecting the plant will be more stressed even than it was before, what with more exposure to insects, (not that the cage ever protected them much!) plus direct sun not filtered by the screening. I may be starting over with that plant pretty soon, but . . . that's life with brugs, right?

I may have to try the epsom salt and silicon. I sell the silicon but have not tried it yet. We shall see. Do you think it is wise to use it on plants in full sun or is it just for overwintering?

Hm, I started using it on my orchids last summer, but in very dilute spray solution. The brugs were getting sprayed then, too.

But the research I read about it, they were using it on cucumbers and tomatoes, which are full sun plants grown in hot summer weather. It was showing the plants to be more resistant to fungal diseases after they used the silicon stuff on them. I'm now watering it into my Earth Boxes where I have tomatoes growing.

My brug Charles Grimaldi has a tremendous flush of blooms, despite our winter temperatures the last few weeks! I've never seen so many flowers on this plant. The big NoID pink has been in bloom nearly constantly all winter. The flowers last a long time in cool damp weather. It's now over 9ft. tall and I had to move it out of the pool cage, it was taking up too much room!

Another huge flush of blooms on Charles Grimaldi, the pink NOID has forgiven me for moving and pruning it so drastically, and Monster White is covering itself with glory despite some pretty funky looking leaves at the moment. The last shot is of a wine bottle that I stuck a cutting in about a month ago, and forgot. It has filled the bottle with roots and has a bud! Thought you'd all get a kick out of that.

My yellow Charles Grimaldi has another flush of bloom going on, and he just barely finished dropping the last flowers a week ago. Must be the weather, huh?

Looks like you are just a bad as I am with the plants. But they bring so much happiness who can blame yah. Is that a hot house or a patio?

Screened patio around our little pool. Keeps at least a few of the bugs away . . but not the spider mites!

Yep, a 'collection' of 3 orchids has become over 100 in the last few years . . . along with a huge jungle of a garden full of interesting plants.

A friend says there are two types of gardeners - landscapers and collectors. Guess which we are? Whistling Hilarious!

Charles Grimaldi putting on another flush of blooms, but they sure are taking their time coloring up! They all opened white, shaded to ivory on the second day and are finally yellow now. Must be the cloudy weather or something.

Lots of new blooms coming along here. My brugs are pretty happy, but they sure are heavy drinkers! Monster White and the big noid pink.

It does smell really nice out there at night, Rhaps.

My big pink one has covered itself in glory this week. Went for a flash picture to get the flowers when they're all the way open. These ones close halfway or so during the day.

Two Monsters have covered themselves in blooms this time around. I'm going to have to prune them a lot after this run is over!
