This is another group to consider if you are looking for some unique different colors there are a few here that really stand out in my garden.

Dragon Dance ( A Tan with purple on the falls this one has to be seen in person has really good branching and lots of flowers)

Romantic Gentleman ( Huge ruffled flowers a favorite in this color)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/be3350

Heike Und Ines ( another good surprise from Germany I like the form of the flowers)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/16aefc

Magic Act ( a really nice color that blooms at the end of the season)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/ef5f4e

Stop Flirting ( This has proven to be a exceptional flower and has produced a wide range of colors and patterns a couple of my new fav's from Australia come from this (Ride The Waves & Platinum Passion) I recommend this one.
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/5a68b2

Tango To The Moonlight ( A nice color combo )
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/c7498c

Jazz Era ( A Keppel masterpiece I am looking forward to experimenting with this I think it will have some fun color combo's)

Colourable ( I loved it in Oregon but has not grown well here, I gave it a new spot hoping it will come around if you like the colors in it take a look at the pics in the database of it growing in Oregon it really is nice.)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/0bbf02

Play Me The Blues ( Awesome color this one has Sea Power and Dusky Challenger in it's pedigree and a unique color that's hard to capture with the camera flower is big and impressive)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/3cba6f

Blowing Kisses ( Really nice in a clump very pretty )
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/7acf39

Easter Candy ( Well named and liked here)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/57060a

Enchanter ( Love the flower but this one is a slow grower for me)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/e72844

Treasure Trader ( It opens with Horizontal falls so if you like that, this one should appeal to you it has a great color impact and seemed to bloom a long time)

Trial By Fire ( One of my favorite red's from Joe it just glows )
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/ed4305

Strawberry Freeze ( A new one from Tom Johnson this one is really nice, quite a few people stopped and commented on it looked really good this year)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/09f333

Highland Lord ( The color of my picture is off a little I struggle with the dark purples in bright light it is a few shades darker than this but the form and ruffles is what it has and if your looking for a good growing dark purple this is the one )
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/6d405c

Never Been Kissed ( A wonderful flower and early bloomer here)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/2228d4

Apricot Already ( Hard to get much better than this one if you need a pastel orange it has beautiful colors, lots of bud's and increased rapidly)
Thumb of 2014-01-10/ARUBA1334/77e6ca

Uninhibited ( If your looking for unique this is another one that is gorgeous )

Wow, Brad, that picture of Romantic Gentleman is one of the nicest pictures I've seen of it. Great shot, along with all the others. I, of course added 5 to my wish list, dang, looks like I should give up on the veggie garden and start filling it with irises, lol. Gotta have Dragon Dance, Never Been Kissed, Apricot Already, Unbriddled, and Trial By Fire. I think I better quit looking at this tread, or I'm going to have to hire a gardener! Found this thread today and have something to add. In 1994, when I got my first house at the age of 47, I was abysmally ignorant of anything related to growing plants. Bought this place and started throwing things in the dirt--then leaving them alone thinking that was all there was to it. Yeah, I know (shaking head hung in shame). But, I have paid attention in these years and have learned a lot. Became enamored with daylilies a few years back and that enthusiasm was all-consuming for awhile. Mellowing out, now, as they have flourished and, last year, I started becoming more interested in Iris. Had to have a few in the beginning because of my grandmother and remembering her gardens, but they were just here already or gifts, etc. Howsomeever, it has become time to 'Grow Irises by Intent.' Thought to start out like I did with other plants (that have survived) and go for a few inexpensive ones to trial until I learn enough about them to feel safe with the more expensive beauties. So...the reason I have blathered all this personal detail is to strongly second the comment made that Brad should get a commission from the hybridizers. I saw the photo here of Riding the Waves...I.Saw.The.Photo. You posted it, Brad, so it is your doing! First time ever, for any plant, for any reason, I am ordering from overseas AND paying more than $4.00!!!!!! On a fixed income and spending my entire February discretionary allocation on this ONE FLOWER. ONE FLOWER!!!! SO, YEAH, BRAD! You should get a "reel 'em in" fee because you are GREAT at it.
I tip my hat to you. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

(Thank you, Brad. Smiling )

Have you made any crosses with it, Brad?

It's definitely fertile. I have bunch of seedlings out of it that should bloom this spring, but am not really sure what to expect from them. It doesn't have any registered children, yet. Not sure what to make of that other than it hasn't been available very long.

Didn't find it and I searched every parameter I could think of. But it is better this way. Then I can single out Brad's skill with a garden and a camera for all my extended efforts.

Thank You all for the wonderful comments !!! I am glad I could help grow the wish lists Big Grin It sounds like Romantic Gentleman and Blowing Kisses were the most popular it's fun to see what every one likes and awful hard to narrow it down to just a couple favorites.

Debra Rolling on the floor laughing That is awesome you have excellent taste !! That is one fantastic colored, nice ruffled Iris and I really really liked it this year, I made a cross with every flower that bloomed off of it this spring nodding I can't wait to see what comes of them and you will not be dissapointed in anything you get directly from Barry the quality of the bulbs is excellent. I have not sent him my order yet but I will be getting a few from him this year the new ones in his catalog are incredible.

Kent I did not get anything to take with it this year I tried to get it to set a couple pods and nothing took for me,will look forward to seeing your pics if you get something neat out of it. I like the the cross on the pod side of it (Braggadocio x Romantic Evening ) those are two really good producing plants and I think there is a lot of potential there. I think you are right it is probably to new that's why we have not seen anything from it yet. Have you done anything with Reckless Abandon that one is destined for some really great things I found some pictures on the France Iris page of seedlings from it Beautiful new patterns in Plicatas.
