Cindy and Char I have found a Skinwalker in a daylily farm about 60km from here. It is called Meads Daylily Gardens. I don't know how I have overlooked them. They list it as semi-evergreen too.

Another of my resolutions is to try and get photos of some of the older cultivars by Australian hybridisers into the data base. Interestingly the Meads registered 100s of daylilies last century but I notice the farm has only a few of them. I have one of theirs DOUBLE ROSEDALE which is one of my favourite daylilies.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Glen - I am not a fan of daylily doubles, but your DOUBLE ROSEDALE is an exception! The blooms are absolutely beautiful!

I think your idea about photographing Australian daylilies and adding them to the database is an excellent idea! I imagine you will have fun doing it, too! Thumbs up

That is great news Glen! I wish I had been able to grow Skinwalker here. Agree with Becky, it would be wonderful to have images of the Australian hybridizers registrations in the database. I've been admiring Helena Seabird all winter Smiling

I sent you a Tree-mail, did you get that? I am having trouble with my mail or something weird going on and it doesn't show some of the mails I sent, so I don't know if you got it or not? You are not the only one either. Cyberworld does not really like me sometimes!

My latest gardening resolution is to get all these daylilies that are coming now planted in the ground ASAP. I have bucketS of daylilies with their roots soaking in water and SuperThrive. These are daylilies that I was NOT going to buy over the winter this year! Big Grin What happened? How did I let this happen AGAIN? Shrug! I thought I had more self control than this. Confused

Hello All,

I am fairly new to ATP. Just joined in March. I was reading through the post and just had to say I am glad someone else besides me has tons of Daylilies they ordered *Blush* that they will need to get planted. Really need to stay away from the Lily Auction Rolling my eyes. We have been trying to get the beds built but winter does not seem to want to leave here. Glare Snowed a little here Saturday night and that did not help my hostas that were already growing. Grumbling Wonder why when you have tons of things to do outside for Spring the weather never cooperates? Confused

Well that has already been happening. I mean when you get emails from several nursery's and they are running specials like "Green Envy Coneflower" at 67% off, how can you refuse? Shrug! I mean at that price, I got two. Big Grin

Tomorrow morning I begin digging spring orders, despite the fact that we've had temps down to freezing for the past two nights, and expect the same tonight. One thing I'm doing differently this year is to pot up and label those excess fans so that they can either be donated to our club sale in late June or to have around here for garden visitors. I have a bunch of potting soil and pots ready to go tomorrow. This will work well with my cutting back plan ( and also help give room for the new arrivals that are coming.) Each spring and fall, the goal is to remove more plants from the garden than the new ones to be planted. That has been working fairly well for the past few years. Next goal is to get numbers down to around 500. Considering there were once over 1000 and inventory today is 572, that might be doable by this fall. Of course, the dozen or so new ones for 2014 haven't been added yet!

My resolution is to get my new daylily beds done. I moved at the end of last year and most of mine didn't survive the hard winter. So I've ordered a bunch of new ones and I can't wait for them to arrive!!! I'm kind of a procrastinator, though, so I still don't have all the turf I need to remove dug up yet.

Whew, just made good on part of my shoulda-been-a-resolution ... Fifty 1-gallon pots from Home Depot for $49 and free in-store pick up today. They even called right after my online purchase to make sure I'd placed the order and to tell me I could pick them up anytime. Now my little stunted-growth hobby hybrid seedlings can spread their roots, grow, and hopefully bloom this year! Lovey dubby

chalyse,
A little late now, but did you check with nurseries nearby. The one down the street used to throw them out on an annual basis, I would stop and pick them up. They went out of business this year, I am going to miss all the pots.
