Has anyone ever grown Hyacinth Beans & Morning Glory's together? Do they play nice or do they constantly battle for dominance as in try to strangle one another.

I do grow both but have not tried them together . If I were to take a guess the bean is much more dense in vine and leaves , I think it might win for the fight for light.
It does sound like an interesting idea the flowers may complement each other very well.
If you try Please let us know how it plays out Smiling

Humm, interesting idea to grow them together. I am not sure if it would actually work either. I have grown both but separately.

I've grown both too but never together. I think I'll give it a try.

I've only grown hyacinth beans once and they never bloomed for me. I think our growing season is just a bit too short for them. The vines did well, just no blooms. I did once try growing morning glories with Cobaea scandens (Cup and Saucer vine), but the Cobaeas choked out the MG's. Oddly enough, they worked fine with Cardinal Climbers.

Maybe the secret is to get plants with the same types of leaves? So Hyacinth Beans and Scarlett Runner beans. Morning Glories and Cardinal Climbers.

I really want to try Cardinal Climber with Heavenly Blue MG's. Assuming I can get the darn HBs to grow for me. Grrrr, don't know why I have so much trouble with them. But the Cardinal Climbers worked well with both the morning glories and the Cup and Saucer vines. Looked really nice with the white Cup & Saucers.
