The purple in the base and viens of the standards is unique and I would love this one in my garden. Love the contrast in colors.
1R is interesting in that the standards are not "plicata" also but are solid in color. The fall band/ring is sharply defined and the white is bright. The is also a bright yellow in the haft area (vs a muted or dull color) and the beards seem to be different as I see very dark ones as well as some with yellow tips. Very interesting. I would like to see this with a darker (towards black) Fall band/ring.
2R is the most appealing to me. I like TBs all right, just prefer the smaller plants. I am short. 36" is the optimum height for me. However I do hybridize BBs, which annoys my husband as they remind him of talls. No rest for the wicked.
Stacey glad you found one you liked it was really unique nothing else like it in those colors and that made it a favorite of mine as well, I wish I would have had a few days to watch that one open up and bloom some more the red spot was awesome.
Brett I agree it is a winner definitely different and I like different I think it is the winner from this group.
Greg I agree that would be awesome, I do have some nice pictures of plicatas left to share the patterns in them really are interesting they just keep improving them the form and color is getting better every year. I made quite a few crosses last year with them hoping for something I have never seen before they really are exciting.
Lucy I would buy 2R it was my favorite in that color scheme I hope that one makes it someday.
Thanks all for the comments, I am enjoying reading everyone's thought's on these
I LOVE 1R on the previous batch! It reminds me of Class Ring. Is this one of Keith's, Brad?
Tom ~ I assumed the flower had not yet fully opened, but as you say, we can only go by what we see. And I see how the falls do look kinda wimpy compared to others. Thanks for the input!
On the above batch 6R ...a defiant yes! Is it a luminata? I like 8L a lot too, but it looks too much like Jamaica Me Crazy... Some of the others too, look like ones I already have.
My favorite of this last batch is 8R Love that bright yellow beard, and the nice yellow trim on the standards. I also like 1L a lot, 4L, 5R, and I think the yellow veins on 6L hold some promise. I wonder if 2R is a Super Hero child?

7R is distinctive. I don't remember one in that color pattern. Pretty form. If it had a nice stem with good bud count and vigorous I would love it in my garden.
I have a update on the very first set of pictures guys it turns out 3R the red and black one we all loved has a name it is a new introduction from Superstition this year called ONE STEP BEYOND. It just went to the top of my list it really is gorgeous and coming from those guys it will be a great grower. I will make sure we get more pictures of it when we visit there garden this spring.
Patti.. that one you asked about was in fact from Kieth's garden and I am hoping we can convince you to stop by his garden with your camera this spring and look for it and yes 6R is a luminata. There were so many unique colors and patterns in his garden I wish I would have had more time to look at all the seedlings blooming I got lost in all of Barry's flowers and ran out of time hoping to make up for that next year.
Tom.. not sure if it is from Superhero but I am really looking forward to his catalog, I think this may be his new 2014 intro called IN THE LOOP my picture isn't the best of it, when I visited his gardens I only had a hr on the bus tour to take pictures and this one was just opening at the ranch. There was one that really stuck out to me when I was at his house and it got a name this year CELEBRATORY awesome flower, I liked everything about it and that one should hold up well in our extreme spring weather.
Lucy ..I have know idea what would happen but I sure wish I had some of both of them to find out
MaryAnn & Paul.. I really liked it too I have never seen anything else like it but I find myself repeating that over and over when I look at Kieth's plants.
This last one surprised me it really didn't look anything special until I noticed it had Sea Power listed as the pod parent, I had know idea a bright blue can produce a orange I still have a lot to learn
I like 1L, 2L, and 7R (very unique) the best of this group, but I also like 4L and R, 6R (different color and I like the shape) and 8R. Also like the orange one. It's a good thing that not all of these get introduced in one year, I'd go crazy trying to get them all!

Dennis
Hi Dennis ~ well, lucky me I only live about 30 miles away from the above gardens, and have been to all but Keith's. So I probably won't do the tour...I like being able to go at my own pace, which is s l o w!
