Is that digiplexis the same as this one? Foxglove (Digitalis Digiplexis® Illumination Flame)

I was thinking that in the database perhaps the two digiplexis were put together on the same entry, because from what I saw online, there is a digiplexis 'Illumination Flame' and digiplexis Pink.....mine is 'Flame'....I've not encountered the 'Pink' yet...you can bet your boots I will grab it if I do....

Seems many online images show this with both coloring, the pinker version too.

I was reading up on it this morning too. Also found 'pink' and 'Flame'. Unfortunately for me it also needs four weeks of temps below 42 to iniate blooms. That leaves me out. Sad

I didn't know that about the 42 degrees....it will get that here.....

There may be confusion with it being relatively new....as to which is which, etc.....dunno...

Isoplexis is now classified as a synonym for digitalis, so it's actually a cross of digitalis and digitalis. Not so exotic after all. It is a beauty, though, and I'll buy it if I see it at a nursery.

I thought it was a cross of isoplexis and digitalis and now isoplexis does not stand on its own?

Nope. It's a cross of Digitalis purpurea x Digitalis canariensis (formerly Isoplexis canariensis), and Digiplexis is just a copyrighted trade name.

Sherry - if you have any extra echium seeds, I would live some.

I have been away from home for 3 weeks and am looking forward to what is blooming in the garden.

This a.m.....I will pry the seeds out and split them between you guys....I say pry because they're kinda prickly little things to get them out of and I can't really tell how many seeds there are without doing that. I'm pretty sure I had around 100% germination with them.

Same thing, Dianne...T-mail a mailing address tro me. I will have more seeds after the one in flower finishes, if anyone else wants any....

Rhodys in bloom everywhere...I don't care much for them and won't be planting any, but I do like the color of this one. If I were to plant any, they would be purple or white.

Now that's a huge beauty! I never cared for them until I moved up here and now planted several under my redwoods.

I was into a whole new aesthetic down south, moved up here and it's really thrown me off. Yuccas seem really out of place up here, but we had comopany and I passed a bunch of yucca prunings dumped along a curb and I went nuts thinking I should grab them, but was in the wrong car...then I decided I wouldn't want them here anyway, but just in case...I went back by there this a.m. just in case, but they were gone. Still, every time I see yuccas here I think "That's just wrong...."....lol..
