Did I mention that the echiums do really well up here? These are on the way to Brookings, Oregon.....

According to Sunset, Echiums thrive near the coast. I hope my seeds aren't cooking!

I should add that the echiums pictured above are echium pininana......

Nice! I used to have so many watsonias. They must appeal to gophers because I now have only a few here and there.

It's a very pretty little garden and I usually hit the library first, then DQ for a milkshake, then the garden to see what's in bloom each week...

I did really, really , really well today......I went and made my usual stops and did not stop at the Garden Club's Plant Sale..can you believe that? I did glance over as I went by but, nope...did not stop...

I had a very large, old patch of watsonias in Fallbrook, zu, and the gophers never bothered them. But then I'd never had gophers bother my echiums either and I left a bunch with a friend and the first one she planted got eaten....now she's afraid to plant more without making wire baskets first...I had the white and pink and magenta watsonias....I guess I got my fill of them, but I've never had the orange ones and those I need...lol..

Just noticed these in town this evening...elegant...












Should 'Blooming in May'...oh, well...................
