Yes, I was wanting to see Bill Maryott speak. Was disappointed I didn't make the meeting. I am really trying to make the next one and need to join. Need all the info I can get.

I'm envious about your Waldrop order because I lost 3 of the 4I had from him this winter. I had DIANA'S PEACHES AND CREAM, RED EYED QUEEN, IRISH CROWN, and THE STING. The only one that made it was IRISH CROWN

I finally finished potting all the daylilies I got from James Hall, 19 all together and they are beautiful. Mostly single fans of things I could not afford doubles of. LOL. They will grow fast here, I am not worried. I had a single fan last year from abundantdaylilies that bloomed in one month. It was Raspberry Mountain!

I received from Fred (spunky1) and Lillian Manning the daylily I won in the daylily naming contest last fall. Very nice size and it even has a scape. Thank you Fred and Lillian!

The local daylily club was having a sale and I got:
Banned in Boston
Elfin Etching
Merry Witch
Midsummer Nightingale
Patchwork Puzzle
Wilson Spider

I also asked my neighbor if I could dig some of the daylilies that they were mowing over and burning a brush pile next too. They said okay so I dug five clumps (small ones by now after what they went through last year) before they started mowing again. The wife of the older couple that lived there before this couple went with me to an open garden daylily sale. I know what she bought, but just don't know what I dug up except the one she left the tag on, Garden of Gethsemane. I probably dug up a few clumps that I had given her. Sad thing is that I couldn't get to the one on the other side of the dog fence (friendly dog).

@James Saw you are in the same zone as me and I have an order coming soon. I don't know if I want to go ahead and plant them in the beds yet...

Cat, the risk of frost for you (on average) is less than 10% around May 1. If it were me, I would plant them in the ground. Even a light frost shouldn't hurt the plants. You could always cover if there was a risk of a moderate or greater freeze.

Yes, that was what I was leaning towards. I really have to many coming to be trying to pot them up. I could use big plastic sheets to cover if needed. I am getting ready to fill 3 raised beds.

I was (am) just still a little nervous about the ever and semi-ever greens I have coming. Remember I am a Daylily Greenie *Blush* . This is a new adventure for me. Blinking I believe I had damp off going on some seedlings I started and lost several. Don't want any thing else going wrong at least not right away...

I understand. For what it's worth, the evergreen and semi-evergreen varieties in my yard (planted before this spring) are all up and growing.

It's understandable being nervous this year, Cat. It was a nasty, long, winter. I think we are a little gun shy about getting things in the ground to quickly now.
