Seedfork, that is what I was trying to say... Smiling Before, I think when I clicked on the thumbnail, it went directly to the "details" page - eliminating the extra step to give thumbs and see the other photos.

Also, since I have a large, wide screen monitor, this new way puts the photo in the upper left, but the links to click on waaaayyyy over in the upper right of the window. I guess my mouse is sort of over that way, from clicking on the thumbnail, though. But - when I click on the photos that are under the items in the left side menu - then I DO need to go all the way over to the right to get to the clickable links to get to the link to click on to get to the page to give a thumbs up.

Just seems a little more clumsy than the way it was before.

Probably just me.... Whistling *Blush*

Edited to add --- when I click on the multi plant images at the bottom of the home page -- the thumbs icons are right up there at the top left, convenient to click on. Maybe that is what you were thinking of?

*Blush* Hate to say it, but I actually can't remember how it was!. I just know on my 19" screen on my old monitor it works great.

It takes an extra step on the random image. On every other one, the thumbs/acorns icons exist right below the thumbnail itself. So you can click, view, and escape (or click the X) to close it and then give thumbs if you approve.

But, making it so that the thumbs exist in the popup window itself is very high on my priority list. It's going to be doable eventually.

I just uploaded a big batch of new code updates to ATP. The most significant change is that you can now give thumbs and acorns in the dialog box when you open an image.

I just noticed that. And you removed it from the a Recently Shared Photos side bar?

I did remove it from the thumbnail view. In order to give a thumb, you now must first open the image full size and then you can give the thumbs.

There's mostly a technical reason why this is so: I can't have a thumb for the same item on the page twice, and the popup dialog box actually is part of the page itself. So it's an "Either or" situation there.

Plus, it's probably a good idea to view the full image before awarding thumbs anyway.

I agree and hopefully members will also open the entry itself and perhaps enjoy viewing any additional images!

I think this new dialog window is a much faster way. Before, you had to click and it takes you to a different page. Then you have to go back to the homepage (or close the new tab) to return. Now you never leave the page. Image comes up, check it out, enjoy it, close the dialog (hit escape or click the X) and you are right back where you were before.

This work is actually a stepping stone to a greater feature that I have planned. Green Grin!

Definitely. And in addition, thumbnails are usually not a true shrinking of the full photo. Thumbnails are always square. The full photos are usually rectangles. There has be some trimming going on that will change the composition.

I rather miss 'thumbing on the fly' but will be patient as Dave seems to have more in store.
