I"ll send you each a portion of my water bill. Glare

Hey, Rob, I've been told Irises don't need that much water, not like, say, daylilies or daisies. Big Grin

[quote="tveguy3"]Well, Brad, and all, My name is Tom, and I'm an iris-aholic! Blinking Confused Rolling my eyes.
I just sent in my " amended order" to Bayview, adding Star Turn. This qualified me for two bonuses, and I selected Emblematic and Heavenly Host. So that gives me 5 of the new intros for the price of 3. How's that for a bargain, and If I know Joe, he might slip in yet another one as a gift. I feel so much better now, I've come clean. Even the clouds have parted and the sun has started to peak through. How's that for an omen?

Hi Tom!! Hilarious!

Now you need to clarify something for me -- you're getting two bonuses for an order that includes Star Turn, right? Not for purchasing Star Turn by itself......

Mary Ann, In Ghio's catalog, there is a "super bonus", that if you spend $100. you get to chose one from some of the new intro's. If you spend $200, you get to chose another one of the new intros from a different selection. Somehow I didn't see that when I sent in my first order (which totaled more then $100. ) and then when I added the order for Star Turn, it put me over the $200. mark, so I got to choose another one. For the first 100 bucks you can choose from Border Skirmish, In The Loop, Rare Coin, Vow Of Silence, and Emblematic. I picked Emblematic. (I think these are the pictures Brad included in his post) Then if you spend $200, you can pick from Celebratory, Going Big Time,Heavenly Host, and Spiral Galaxy. I picked Heavenly Host. (I already had ordered Rare Coin, and Celebratory.)

Did you get his catalog? He has some really good prices on more recent irises, and not only his stuff.

Emblematic is one of last years models, I didn't like the picture in the catalog, but when I saw Brad's picture, I thought it was really nice. Brad, the ultimabe enabler!!! Those great pictures, how can anyone resist. *Blush* Sticking tongue out

Confession update. My total ordered including bonus irises is now 49. I think, I still have 6 that I really wanted from Sutton, but their web pages aren't up to date, and they don't respond to my e-mail, So I'm guessing they are not ready to sell irises yet with the move to Idaho. I also had a couple I wanted from International Irises, but they don't respond to e-mails either. Wonder what's up!

I can imagine that moving the whole business from California to Idaho could be a major undertaking, that and the death of George Sutton, and I guess his wife died too. Lots to deal with for sure. I've been wanting "All Smiles" for a while now, but can't seem to find a source for it. Oh well, I sure have plenty of irises already, one more or less isn't the end of the world.

Tom -- I don't think I got his catalog this year. Got one last year. I'm so used to going to websites that I don't even think about catalogs hardly, anymore. Thanks for the info!

Ouch, did not know that. Devastating to say the least. I was thinking of adding Howler to my order, also. I am a sucker for pinks with blue beards.

I like to spread the wealth around.. I've ordered from Superstition, Mid-America, Napa, Schreiners and Blue-J. I was really trying to rein it in as I still have about 15 left from last year in containers.. So, Grand total (including bonuses): 36
I also have several that I'll be receiving this summer that were door prizes at our local meetings. Monterey Bay Iris Society also has a big sale in August, so I'll be getting some there too. It ain't over, 'till it's over Smiling
Tom, I saw 'Emblematic' at our last meeting, and it's a beauty.

Sherry, it's never over!!! I wait all spring and talk irises and wait until they bloom then I quit all social non iris events and only my iris friends see me and as soon as the bloom season ends I start sending the iris orders off that I made all winter long. Then there are the digs for the rhizome sales and the sales themselves. Then we start the fall and the bleak irisless months so we stay on websites and talk and dream irises and get out the never ending lists and start adding to them and going to iris meetings even in the dead of winter and then as the new year rolls over start counting the weeks till the first early dwarf grows a bloom stalk and then, and then, and then........

My farrier had to cancel for today, so now I find myself looking through iris pictures. I have to leave my credit card out of hand, I don't need to order any more irises. But OH those beautiful pictures. HMMMMMMMMMMM I better go start weeding gardens before I join Arlyn in the totally crazy group, but then I guess I already crossed that bridge last year. Glare Blinking Rolling my eyes. Whistling Maybe even before then . . . . Crying
