Thanks, it helps when others understand what it's like to loose an animal. I'm glad I have the irises to keep me occupied right now. Keeps my mind off the loss for a while anyway.

Oh Tom -- just read about the loss of the foals. How disheartening. I had a mare conceive twins -- the vet pinched off one -- then she resorbed the other. Same result -- just not as hard as when you can see them and what they would have been.

I'm really sorry. Group hug

So sorry to hear of the loss of the foals. Nothing cuter than a healthy baby, and nothing sadder than losing twins. Is your mare doing OK?

Iris definitely help. Louisa's Song is high on my list too.

The mare is doing fine, she's a bit depressed yesterday, but you can expect that.

I saw in my walk around in the dark, that I have a couple more open, and a few that might open during the day. I have a lot of work to get my veggie garden in order, but I will try to take some pics of the new ones when it starts to get light out.

I have a few more pictures this morning
This is Mystique. Notice the color differences that my stupid camera made. They were taken one after the other, and 2 of the pics shows it being much more blue then it is. I will never understand why that is. Oh well, it is what it is. I'm not much of a techie!

Almost forgot, I have a mystery iris. I have no idea what it is, or where it came from. It was in the area where I put some trades I got a couple years ago, and it never bloomed. The marker is faded. Any guesses?

Tom-
Your NOID purple historic appears to be I. Germanica. It is about the first to bloom here.
But the William A. Setchell appears to be mis-id'd as it does not have the white part of the beard on the fall end, unless the pix just not showing it.
All-
Nice to see such great pix of such a great variety.

Beautiful!

Getting correct photos of blue iris is so difficult. Any change in the lighting can throw the color off.

Nice to see your Slovak Prince. Mine is now in a pot due to stalk rot - never did get to see it bloom this year. Sad

All are beautiful! And it is good to see the sunshine if only in your pictures. We are monsooning here which is unusual for this area. Good luck with your crosses!
