Starting to get worried about rain, just did a big watering project yesterday but might have to break down and get a couple soaker hoses. Dragging the hose around isn't cutting it anymore.

I feel bad for you Linda. Here I am complaining about 80 degrees and it is l0l where you are. I just can't take the heat any more. Hope you get some rain to cool things down a bit.

Debra, I don't have a larger picture of it, but do have a larger schematic drawing that is similar to it I'm also looking at making it possible to rig it up without necessarily having to sink posts, or by having the whole thing removable by using retractable clothes lines like the one's linked at the bottom (lots of options out there for these, just one example) Thumbs up

We bought a pergola recently for our deck which has a retractable top. We got it because we haven't been able to enjoy our deck much at all because it gets so blazing hot. The top works fantastic as long as there isn't much wind. It's held in place when open by magnets. We need to get some much larger magnets!

Is it fairly easy to take down the top and put it back up again, then, when wind is expected? I'd love to expand to possible choices if a pergola with retractable top is possible (do you have any link to share, too?) Hurray! Thank You!

Tina, the top isn't removable, at least not without tools. It retracts back and can be held in place. I'll send you a tree mail

Tina, you probably saw this post from Michele, with pictures at the Daylily Mecca. I was thinking of doing something like this for shade cloth over the daylilies. You'll have to scroll part way down to see the pictures. Even though it gets hot here, I don't think it stays as hot as other areas. But, being blazing hot isn't going to help with hybridizing, so I do want to do something to help with that.

Got some rain today Hurray! Hurray! came after I dragged hose #1 which covers the largest area, but at least no dragging of the other 4. Also meant no cutting of the dog run. Silver lining...can't cut until I air up the tire AGAIN which I really didn't feel like doing. Shrug!

I didn't bother to look at the temp this morning. I had to go out and weed the daylily bed. Got most of it done and will finish up tomorrow or Tuesday. About dinner time tonight we had a nice shower so everything is watered.

Fine and about 53 degrees. I am not too happy with the cold.

I don't know what happened to the rain we were supposed to get but it is sunny now and humidity is just awful. I tried to do a little weeding and now I am wet with sweat.
